Sorry, but the series has had "multiple timeline theory" or what have you before episode Ignis or the main campaign was even released. its strange the alternative ending is not in the game (but holy snap, you right, NO GAME EVER HAS MULTIPLE ENDINGS, not even final fantasy 10-2 nor type 0). The set up, the way the game is told, the features, the way the games narrative is mostly unlocked through exploration, oh yeah.
we see that they have provided content retroactively for years post-release, its one of the major flaws of Fifteen (there is no real excuse to not provide the alternative endings in game form as this is not only one of the major reasons the community is upset, but outs just sloppy and borderline unprofessional. This type of game should've had the multiple endings from the start upon release. It does not mean the others are not canon nor that they did not occur, and statements have been provided to leave outcomes up to interpretation. If you wish to refer to the games timeline as "alpha timeline", sure that works.
